Life now and then

I tell u working causes you to lose creativity. All my blog titles are "Life XXX" "XXX Life". Because I cant think of an creative yet appropriative title.

Let's talk about my work first. I have a boss from hell, a person with a foul temper who tries very hard to keep it under control and ends up giving me the impression that he thinks i'm stupid to the max. Being the foul-tempered me, I also try very hard to keep my temper in check, and in the process, end up giving my colleagues the impression that I am damn irritated. But you know what? I don't give a damn. My boss can hate me for all he wants, cos I hate him too. Bosses are terrible don't you think?Don't want to give clear instructions and yet expect subordinates to give them work, that is not excellent, but work the way they want it. SO even if you hav a better idea than your boss, he wont appreciate it unless it is also what he has in mind too. I vow to start my own business one day I SWEAR.

Despite such a horrible act-humble boss, I have very nice colleagues whom I'm starting to get along quite well with. I'm glad the ppl in my dept are all quite young, some of the other MTs in other depts have "mommies" and "daddies" as colleagues. At least I dun dread going to work, which is my KPI to monitor if I am starting to hate work.

Today's a Sunday and I am actualy doing work-research on the internet, all thanks to the monster boss of mine. But I actually like reading The Economist! Gosh! A sign of growing old. Anyway, I would like to sidetrack! Pluto is no longer a planet! Poor Pluto... =( It must be really sad that it is being downgraded.

But i'm feeling happy today (despite doing research) cos I dun have to give tuition today! And I dun need to give tuition to the poly student too! Yippie!! So happy! What a nice and relaxing Sunday. It's the first Sunday in the month of August that I am free the WHOLE day.

So that's life for me now. I was reading rs's blog just now about the things that we used to do together in hall, so I am gg back in time to those hall days now, and try to remember all those things that we did together, before time erases all my memories.

Yr 1
- The shock I had when Mabel came into my room the first time and just sat on my bed w/o invitation. at the same time hugging my pillow.
- Mabel coming to my room and falling aslp INSTANTLY when Kepple came to repair her fan.
- waiting for mabel to BRUSH TEETH together at night. Thinking back, I dun really understand why brush teeth also must brush together hahhaha.
- waiting for mabel to bathe together. This makes more sense cos we can chit chat
- gg to lectures with mabel. rs and yw and who else? will be waiting at blk 66 for us and we'll all walk to sch tog.
- The days of being a blk rep.. gg for games, playing soccer tog, preparing for blk supper..
- Cooking the packeted pasta in pantry, sometimes seeing Jason cooking his pasta too, and reading a book at the same time. He explained that he will make full use of his time this way.
- Talking on the phone with #10 at the corridor using my N6510 till late at night
- STudying tog with mabel during exams. She will brg her ikea foldable table to my rm to study. She claimed that she will concentrate better. But seriously, she spends so much time walking in and out of the room to go toilet, drink water etc etc that I dun think it was any more productive for her.
- Studying in the RR and seeing eric asleep on the table for the whole night. He also had a roll of toilet paper on the desk too. Ah pek style since yr 1.

Of course there are a lot more... which short term memory me cant remember. Mabel the fantastic memory girl, add on to the list leh.

Yr2
- Moved over to Blk 65 SINGLE room. Yippie! So happy. Mabel was my neighbour!
- Going to level 3 to wait for rs to go classes tog. Always cant knock too loudly, cos 31 CONFIRMED still sleeping.
- Always have to wake mabel up.. Sometimes no response and I would think sth happened to her. -_-
- THe big fat and white lizard pet rs+31 has in their room. Ewwww.
- A grasshopper landed on ruishan's specs - the first time she was tramautised by an insect. Her first instinct was to sweep the grasshopper away with her BARE hands. Mabel and I agreed that rs was weird, cos we would have just thrown our specs to the table.
- 31 sleeping for 2 whole days and nights. Was it longer? Nonetheless, it was an eye opener for me cos it's the first time I see someone slp so much
- Bathing tog with mabel, as usual.
- Watching lbxx together. Ji yuan ji zi ji yuan ji zi ji ji ji ji ji ji ji......
- Cleaning rooms together: mop floor tog, clean fan tog, scrubbing the exterior of the window..
- A wonderful bday surprise from my bestest uni friends =) and not forgetting all the other hall guys, and also Kaylii! who came all the way to my room to give me a pleasant surprise. =)))))
-Washing clothes with mabel: takes us very long cos we linger for quite some time in the laundry room
- Watching spore idol in the tv lounge with the girls. Scolding and cursing included.
- APproaching the girl whom I thought was gg to snatch my room tog with mabel n rs... and den bluffing 31 after tt. hahahah.

Yr 3
- Watching superstar together in the tv lounge, and the indoor stadium!!! Ohhh mann it was so much fun....
- Saving 31 of course. A not-to-be-forgotten experience. Rather, a i-will-never-forget experience.
- Taking rs's car back to hall tog.
- Talking rubbish in my room, rs's rm, mabel's rm, 31's rm, pq's room....
- Irritating cowardy lizards tt always sped away at the sight of me.
- A horribly huge bee/hornet/whatever that refused to leave my room
- Watching bleach in the midst of exams... a terrible mistake.
- Intro rs to lbxx..
- Endless proj discussions in my rm..
- ikea outing with the girls..
- Skipping along the corridor with mabel n 31...
- Jogging with mabel...
- Irritating rs talking cock with me endlessly..
- Irritating rs talking to me endlessly again...
- Irritating rs singing in her high pitch voice whenever she walks pass my room..

Yr 3 1st sem was the bestest days of hall life. Cos all of us were on the same level, and of course we just couldnt stop talking to one another.

Oh mannnnn... I love hall life......

Some weeks back, while I was watching Pirates in the cinema, I saw the trailer for "Click". At tt time, it seemed to me that it was a funny show, since its adam sandler. Funny it may be, but I know I wont want to watch the show, cos it's just like a typical comedy..

Then 2 weeks ago, #10 went to watch it.. and said tt it's a very touching show and his friends cried while watching it. So i thought of watching it. Then my younger sister watched, and then my elder sis watched too. No bad reviews at all. Seems like a must see movie. So i gathered rs 31 n mabel to watch tog on a fri night.

Girls' night out was fun as usual. No need to elaborate lar, we were all just talking non stop and saying lame jokes non stop too. hahah.

Ok back to the movie. Basically, its about how adam sandler uses the universal remote control to fast forward all the events tt he dreads. Like if he dreads getting caught in the traffic jam, he can fast forward his life and den just end up in the office in a matter of seconds.

Once, he accidentally fastforwarded his life by 6 years I think... There's no rewind, so he just missed out on 6 years of life. (OR was it ten yrs?) During the six years, he didnt experience anything nor can he remember anything. But the fact remains he lived through those 6 years, and those 6 years he was just like a zombie with no feelings, a zombie who only knew how to work. And so, his relationship with his wife and his family started failing. He wanted to build back the r/s, but the remote control tt he has doesn't allow him to do so for some grandmother reasons which i dun feel like elaborating now. Ultimately, in the show, he died without living his life to the fullest, and he lost all his kin. Something like tt lar.

The story really set me wondering. About my life. And whether I actually fast forwarded parts of my life and neglected my family. Thinking back, yes. And I am sure everyone has done so before. Like while staying in hall, I missed out on time spent with my family. Just because I wanted to lead an independent and convenient life. During times when I am frustrated, over sch or wat-have-you, I vent my frustrations on the ppl close to me, not realising the hurt inflicted on them. Will I only realise all these only on my death bed, when its too late to do anything?

The show taught me a good lesson. Family comes first.

Work and Life

Hi all!

Its been a reallyyyy long time since i last blogged... been too tired to do so cos work has started! Man I wake up at like 630am every morning!! At night, i start to feel tired at 10pm. Yar, though I just sit in the office and do nothing much, its really draining man. I mean pretending to work and acting busy is draining. On top of tt, I have to STAY AWAKE. You tell me do all these tiring or not.

So far, work has been okay. I didnt use the word "great" or "wonderful" because nobody in the right mind will think work is great or wonderful. Slacking is the only activity that is great or wonderful. Ok back to work. No one bullies me.. so i guess it's a gd thing. But the office is a lil quiet, the ppl there dun really talk while working. I love lunchtime, cos there's this guy in my office who is hilarously funny, and he keeps all of us entertained for tt one hour. And he's a magician! So he performs tricks for us. =) However, the stress of working will definitely set in next week when the real work begins.

Last saturday, I went to the Botanic Gardens with mabel, rs, yc, yw and eric. It was such a pity that Jasmine couldn't join us, otherwise she can be part of the crazy trio (me mabel rs). Refer to tyw's blog http://theyodellingwanker.blogspot.com for all the crazy things that we did.

Later tt night, I went Johor with #10 and his friends + gfs. We reached slightly earlier than dinnertime, so we went to CitySquare to shop for half hour. ANd i actually managed to buy clothes in tt short half hour hahahah. It's a nice place to shop I think. Should really go w my girl-friends one of these days. THe trip was great, cos my favourite is there mah. My favourite is a person hahahha. #10 describes him as a lorry driver wahahah but I think he's man! OK i shan't say more, otherwise its gonna jeopardise my rs!

You know, I was so worried that I will wake up every morning dreading work, like how it was at my intern co. But so far, i'm still quite positive! I hope this continues and I hope Mabel joins my company!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK its ten pm le I wanna slp cos I'm tired! Good night everyoneee. Photos will be uploaded lar, but I dunno when. hahahhahah. Ohhhhh before I forget, I'm gg to join the standard chartered run!! Hopefully the half marathon... *cough* emily *cough*
